June 21 Pre-Order BonanzaJune 15 Things to do while Xbox Live is Down
Don't forget Tuesday Xbox Live will be down for maintenance so here are a few ways to keep you busy.
2. Watch those show piled up on your DVR. How many Family Guys can you record before you start watching them again ? 3. You could spend some time with a loved one or the family. 4. You could use your (If you have one) Playstation 3, Wii or DSi for some online gaming….Nah you'd still be alone. 5. You could get some sleep and go to bed early. 6. You could chat on your favorite ‘IM’ or Skype with you friends. All that or you can just do what it is you love to do. Pop in one of your favorite Xbox titles and enjoy a nice quiet night of some one on one time with you and your 360 ! -TX May 19 Hey Folks
Text Adventure you know is dedicated to gaming in the past present and future. I'm accompanied by friends SUPERGHOST and his brother Schuey F1. So stop by for great gaming stories. I still intend to blog here, but I think only when I have something to rant about or something personal to say about gaming that wouldn't be appropriate for Text Adventure.
At age 38 I was 290 lbs and am now 217lbs. I'm no health expert, but guess what ? I'm trying to be. Every week I learn new things about eating better. I'm looking to prove to people out there that getting back in shape doesn't mean starving to death and breaking your back in the gym 7 days a week. So far I'm living proof of that. So yeah health and video game what a combo right ? So These two blogs are were most of my energy go to, while this one waits in the wind for a good rant. Like I said I'm not trying to preach in my health blog. I just like reminding myself what I've accomplished at its there for anyone who just happens to come across it as well….. Enjoy ! April 12 GWIBT ?March 28 Life is just a Fantasy
I was always like no way dude not me. Well guess what ? Yeah that’s what I picked up, FF XI. Its was $ 15 on EBgames.com. The game includes ……
Not a bad deal right ? So whether or not I’ll actually play this game is still up in the air. I need partner in crime to play the game with and I think that boat already sailed with SUPERGHOST, but I do have a back up partner in mind. I've always wanted to give an MMO a try and with a 30 day free trial for a game that cost 15 bucks seemed like the way to go. If anyone has played this or is interested in giving a shot let me know. We could run around together doing whatever it is you do in MMO’s. -TX
March 25 Lack of ProgressWhile I havent had much to ramble about here at Brought to you by TormentX, I still have been posting a bit over at my shared blog Text Adventure with buddies SUPERGHOST and Schuey F1. So please stop by and check us out, we have plenty to say over there. Ill be back here though Ive just been a bit lazy as of late. TEXT ADVENTURE be there ! March 11 Little Big Sister ?
From the looks of the magazines cover the little sisters seem to be all grown up and the Big Daddy’s , well they seem to be gone. That or they went on a hell of a diet . Bioshock 2 looks to return with all of its creepy residents plus some new ones. Bioshock was hailed as Game of the Year in 2007 by most, so its sequel has a lot to live up to. With a new team in charge of development we can only hope that everything that made the first so great stays intact. On a sweeter note Take-Two Interactive announced that the game would be released before Halloween of 09 ! So its time to head to your favorite news stand and pick up a copy of the new Gameinformer and find out just who will be waiting for you when you return to Rapture. March 09 Missing out this Friday ....Kind of There's nothing I love more then a good night out with some friends and spirits. Well This weekend Ill be making my way to Mohegan Sun Hotel and Casino to check out Motley Crue in concert. Sounds great right ! Well it is but .....it comes with a price to pay from my first true love of digital entertainment.
Ill be missing out on the release of Resident Evil 5. Now don't get wrong here I'm not totally bummed out over this alone, but add in the fact that Ill be missing the second to the last episode of the greatest show on TV, Battlestar Galactica and it starts to add up.
So Friday night night Ill be trying to act 20 years old again while banging my head to some "Shout at the Devil", drinking some booze and gambling my loot away. Who am I kidding Its Crue, the shows gonna ROCK ! March 04 Check ListFebruary 27 AFRO !
Its kinda funny how we get into things sometimes. Your either a fan of the book, movie, TV show or even the game. Enter Afro Samurai. Here's a piece of entertainment that almost passed me by. I originally had no interest in Afro Samurai till I played the Demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I even foolishly wrote off the game and anime series before giving it a shot just out of pure ignorance. What is Afro Samurai all about ? Well in short, he's the number 2 Samurai in the world and he's looking to kill the Number One. Not for fame or fortune, not even for the title of being a God. Simply put , Revenge. You see along time ago Afro’s Father was the number one, and as a little boy Afro’s father was slain right in front of him. From there his training begun. Immediately after playing the demo I was hooked. Now in the real world cross media doesn't always mix to well. We seen many movie and TV shows become just awful games and vise versa. So what makes Afro’s game so appealing ? First is the beautiful cell-shaded art style. It gives the characters from the show a new more vibrant life. Once you find yourself done being mesmerized by the games beauty, it wont be hard take notice of the hip hop sound track produced by the RZA from the Wu Tang Clan. Speaking of audio, Afro himself isn't a man of many words, but he has a sidekick Ninja Ninja that wont shut up. Both of them happened to be voiced by none other the Samuel L. Jackson. Now for the most part the hack-n-slash gameplay is sound. Of course like many games of this genre the camera tends to hamper the fun a bit (think Ninja Gaiden). Now I haven't purchased the full game yet . I need to find a time were this game will fit into my heavy gaming schedule. For now I fulfilled my needed for Afro Samurai by watching the 5 episode mini series and I look forward to watching the movie next. I still find myself playing the demo every other night or so as well. If you haven't already then I say give the demo a spin, if you have any appreciation for art or music you should at least take notice to what's got me all hyped to play the game. I also strongly suggest trying episode one of the mini series. Its rare that I'm wrong about this stuff , you’ll love it for sure ! -TX February 19 Street Fighter IV …..and its Tools
Yesterday I decided to go out and pick up Street Fighter IV. I've never been a huge fan of the series but with all the hype over the new game along with its beautiful new art style it made hard for me to resist. I do like the game, but found it to bee a bit of a challenge being a noob to the series. I tend to be more of a 3D fighter fan and find them to be easier to play Now a week before the game was released I purchased the Chun-Li version of the new Mad Catz line of SF IV fighting pads just because I'm an accessory whore and though it looked simply stunning. With the game now in hand it only made sense to open the controller and test out it out on the game it was made for. For a Mad Catz product its not bad at all. I find the D-pad and the button lay out to be perfect, but after a while it was feeling stiff and kind of doing a number on my thumb.
-TX February 15 The Adventure of a Lifetime After blogging here for almost 3 years I felt I need to venture out and try something different. In the past Ive tried blogging elsewhere, but just never liked the format or tools of other blogging sites. This brings me to our new blog 'Text Adventures'. Here you will read about the past, present and future of gaming that goes beyond the 360 favored blogs of before from myself and friends SUPERGHOST and Schuey F1.
Gaming had been around a long time and has proved to be growing stronger every year and there's plenty to talk about. So whether its the Commodore 64, an iPod or even a Wii (yes a Wii) you can find it when reading Text Adventures. So please feel free to join us for our gaming Adventures. And as always Brought to you by TormentX will still be 100% XBOX 360 ! February 10 Dead.. ...Dead ......DEAD !Over Used Picture
Yeah its me
Can you smell it ? That fresh scent of rotting flesh and decaying corps...... I do. Its hip to be dead these days, well that's what all the cool kids are doing anyway. I was looking to finish off Dead Space today and then I started thinking about Left 4 Dead then Dead Rising 2 and Resident Evil 5. That's a lot of Dead ! I just recently watched the viral video for Dead Rising 2 and became very excited after hearing that Capcom officially announced the sequel..... I'm just not to happy to see it move on to other platforms.
Keeping with the Ghoulish the theme, I'm looking forward to picking up FEAR 2 this week as well. Not to many zombies in this one, but plenty of dead type of folk make their presence know that's for sure. Heck there's even a Zombie beat up with chicks in bikinis coming. Top things off with the latest volume of the Walking Dead and watching RE Degeneration on DVD you have plenty flesh eating moments to keep all warm yummy inside. Now back to Dead Space.......
February 08 TormentX Takes Paradise Falls Well Ive spent quite some time in the hospital with my son Nicholas and his broken leg. After purchasing a 19'' HP monitor from Circuit City dirt cheap I now can enjoy playing games while my son still gets to watch his cartoons All....Day....LONG ! I put a good 9 hours straight into Fallout 3 the first day and will continue my Journey tonight till the we hours of the morning.
I feel like I own my own little city now in Fallout after taking over Paradise Falls. Its a great place to sleep and store weapons and items to drop some weight. I'm all by myself there, well except for one cray old man who just wont leave. I do have a feeling though I may have to fight to protect my turf at some point in time ! |
