November 29 More Horde Left 4 dead and Gears of War have one thing in common. Both games have you fighting off hordes enemies. Whether it be the more slow tactical pace of the Locust or the lightening like speed of the zombies, both games keep you on your toes and require that you use team work to reach your goal. So when I heard CoD:World at War was adding their own "Zombie mode" to the game I must say I had my doubts. Well I can Honestly say that Treyarch has done a hell of a job coming up with their own original idea of a "horde mode".
You and up to 3 other friends start off trapped in a building with Nazi Zombies trying bust in to eat your brains. You begin only with a pistol but can quickly upgrade your weapon by purchasing a new one after earning enough money. Zombies enter the building through the windows which start off all boarded up, but once you become over whelmed you find yourself not having anytime to put new boards up and find yourself fleeing into another part of the building, but only after purchasing the opening of a new door to find more safety.
The Zombies in this mode aren't very fast like L4D, but once they break into your windows the come by the numbers and soon you'll find your looking for the perfect spot for you and your friends to settle down in to defend yourself to see how many waves you can make it through. This is great mode that wasn't just tacked on to an already great game. I think this holiday is the year of the Horde. November 26 Happy ThanksgivingI hope all of you and your families have a very happy and plentiful Thanksgiving Holiday. Please dont forget the most important part of the whole day. After all the eating, watching football and spending time with loved ones, dont forget to get your over stuffed guts back online for for some sweet Xbox Live play ! November 25 My Boxing Career I feel like I have been lucky over the years when buying a Boxing title. It all started with Evander Holyfield's Boxing on the Genesis, then some Boxing game on the Sega Saturn that I cant remember the name of. My early days of pummeling opponents were spent with some quality gameplay. Then came the Knockout Kings series on the PS1. The first game was great. Everyone one of my friends owned a copy of it. We took every opportunity we could to slap each other each other around and even held tournaments for cash. Then something bad happened. Knockout Kings 2 came out and what a button mashing piece of crap it was.
I let the KK series rest and hung up my virtual gloves for some time. Then EA Sports felt the need to bring me out of retirement with a new and improved series called the Fight Night. Well I wasn't so eager to jump back in the Ring and I held off till Fight Night RD 2 on the Xbox. Once again EA was the champion of the world when it came to Boxing games and I was out of retirement. My career moved to FN RD3 on the Xbox 360 and I must say that I get my ass kicked a lot online but I still love the game.
Now EA is ready to show off Fight Night RD 4 at the this years Spike TV Video Game Award show this December and I couldn't be more excited to see whats in store for the new game after a 2 and half year hiatus. Oh not that this means much anymore, but Mike Tyson is rumored to be making his way into this game. He may be worthless now, but I'm sure his in game character will be based on his early championship status. See in you the ring Punks ! November 20 So ...NXE is Cool ! Now that everyone can enjoy the NXE together I must say I really do enjoy it. First thing that makes my all giddy inside is the new party system. Now friends can gather in a party up to eight people and shoot the breeze while playing different games. I also signed up for my Free 2 week trail of Netflix and tested it out and I think its pretty damn cool. One feature that I found to be super duper neat was the party picture sharing option. You can get together with friends and check out pics from your PC, digital camera and Zune. I must say we all had some laughs last night with this feature November 13 "Reavers" You know at one point in Gears of War 2 I was getting sick of hearing characters in the game yell "REAVERS". Well that was untill I played one of the most memerable moments in gaming history as far as Im concerned. I wont spill the beans on what happens considering GoW 2 is still less then a week old, but when you come across this 10 min boss battle you'll sure know it ! So if you were like myself and wanted to slap some duct tape across the mouths of Dom or Marcus for yelling "Reavers" one to many times, believe me that will all change. And for those who know what Im talking about, I hope you enjoyed that 10 mins of gameplay as much as I did. November 05 My Man-date Thats right I have a man date and its not the first time either. Now all jokes aside tomorrow night is the Gears of War 2 mid-night launch and fellow gamer and friend Memnoch 444 and I will be standing outside on a chilly November night waiting to get our copies of GoW 2. Im off the whole day so waiting around till 9pm is gonna be a chore. Thats were fable 2 comes in , HA !
So Memnoch will make his way over for dinner around 6:30 (remeber I said it was a date), we shall eat and drink and play games till its time to head out to GameStop. From there we will stand outside (with more food and drink in hand I'm sure) with other man-daters waiting to obtain our presious copy of GoW 2 ....BOOM ! November 02 Torment's Tid-Bits
Wow Its seems like it was yesterday when I was talking about Too Human being a must have game. Now here we are just five days away form Gears or War 2 ! Here's a wrap of how things have been going in gaming on my end along with some wants and needs.
With all the great gaming headed our way its no wonder its a time to start giving thanks. CYA ! |
