I'm not trying to rent as many games as possible in a short period of time with my GameFly rentals. I just want to try out some of the games that I would consider buying if I had deeper pockets. This week I received Far Cry 2 in the mail. After starting this game up you'll notice a huge improvement over FC: Predator in terms of graphics and gameplay. I'm having a blast  driving through the beautifully detailed African jungles and spraying ammo every place. But.... the game really isn't making me wanna play it to much. The story which so far seems to be ..."guy goes to Africa, shoots bad guys" just doesn't seem to grab me. Now I haven't tried out the games multiplayer or map editor yet so there could still be something hiding on he disc that could peak my interest some more. Fun game , I'm just glad I rented it.

Last week I finished off Silent Hill: Homecoming. Anyone who has been a fan of this series will be happy to know that the control scheme and combat system have been improved 100 %. No longer do you feel like Austin Powers trying to do a a 3 point turn in a tight hallway. The game was a bit light on the classic Silent Hill puzzles, but still managed to throw enough fright and suspense at you to make up for it. This game didn't do anything to drive the series to the next level, but it didn't do anything to hurt either. Now can someone tell me why the guy in Silent hill is staring in Far Cry as well?

Yes I know its been some time since I've last posted , but I haven't been feeling up to it as of late with starting a new job and all. So what's up ? Well for starters I had my Elite Red Ring on me the night before Fable 2 comes out, but no worries I have 3 of the darn things in my house. Can you say Age of Booty ? I know you can. Its probably the best game to hit the arcade since Geometry Wars 2 and Castle Crashers. Playing RTS  style games has never been my cup of tea, but Booty dose it just right and it ROCKS !

Fable 2 ! Yes its out  and its great ! I'm only about 6 hours into the game and haven't put a dent in it with all the side quest and new worlds to explore. Oh when hear that annoying little voice pestering you in the game, just shoot it !

So today I was lucky enough to receive my COD:World at War beta key and I must say I came away pretty pleased. This version of COD has been getting a lot flack due to the fact that Treyarch Studios are the developers this time around instead of Infinity Ward. I think most of the negativity comes from the sub-par COD 3, which wasnt all that bad to begin with.

So with COD 4 battling it out with Halo 3 for the number spot on Xbox Live week after week, you would think that COD:WAW wouldn't stand a chance at cracking the the #1 spot. Think again ! As far as the beta is concerned the multiplayer is spot on with COD 4 and brings with it a fresh coat of paint.

The first thing your gonna notice is uh ...your back to WWII. With that come of course new maps and weapons. Your perks are all intact with a enough changes to make it feels fresh. Gone are the helicopters, but  they have been replaced with lets say a good friend. Plus in total Treyarch fashion the addition of vehicles along with the their own perks are more then welcomed.

I think this game is going to to gain a lot of respect from the hardcore Call of Duty crowd looking for something new. With what's already looking like a great campaign with 4 player coop online and and the good old COD4 engine pushing it as well as the multiplayer, COD:WAW looks to have every chance to earn that #1 spot on live ...at least once anyway.

  Well I've decided to get back to another sports game  this year. Continuing with my bi-annually purchasing of sports titles, I picked up NBA 2K9. Now I'm not a huge Basketball fan but I truly have been enjoying the 2K series going back to the Dreamcast where it first made an appearance. 

It will be a bit of a learning curve for me getting back to this game due to the controls (which are fine) that are constantly changing from year to year. I usually take a beating from my buddy Roughhouse online in this game so I don't expect to do so well right out of the box. Either way I'm looking forward to getting back to practice out on the court so I can have a tiny bit of skill when facing off and against friends online. I look forward to getting my first loss from "TheWilleffect" from over at The Xbox Domain. Cya on the court !

  Its been quite some time since I've played a Silent Hill game. I started playing the first game in the series back on the PS1. Now I was never a huge fan of the Horror genre as I am today thanks in part to games like Condemned, Dead Rising and Resident Evil 4 and not to mention a little influence from friends like Superghost and Cru. 

Now when I first started playing Silent Hill I was enjoying the story more then the clunky combat. I ended up returning the game for something else back then (remember when you could do that with in 14 days at EB games). Why you ask if I was enjoying it ? Well my friend Ed aka Rican Havoc purchased the game as well and we started playing together along with another friend  Ralph aka Roughhouse.

Well we started playing the game on Monday nights only when we used to get together for Monday Night Raw. Instead we spent hours freaked out and trying to figure out the puzzles. Well the night we or should I say they beat the game, I was past out on the couch from some herbal enhancement to put it mildly. So I never so the games ending while a I fell asleep during the final boss.

Now thanks to GameFly Ill be heading back to the smog filled town known as Silent Hill. It should be arriving this Saturday and after seeing some pretty good reviews I can say that this should keep me busy till Fallout 3 and Fable 2 hit later this month. Boo !

First Id like to express my disappointment in the down grading of the Fable 2 Collectors Edition. The Collector's Edition will no longer include the premium packaging, five fate cards or the adorable Hobbe Qee figure. Booooooo ! With that at least the collectors edition will still be coming just at a cheaper price. So for $69 we will be receiving....  a making-of DVD and bonus in-game content ("The Hall of the Dead" Dungeon, "The Wreckager" Legendary Cutlass Weapon, and Spartan armor with energy sword). Again Booooooooooooo !

So time to move on to My October must buys.First will be Fallout 3. With the ability to create your character from birth using your parents DNA, its clears that this game set in post global atomic war will be filled with endless adventures. From the creators (Bethesda) of the Oblivion series you will sent into another huge world to do battle with newly created weapons. I'm so there.

  On to Fable 2, my next top pick for October. I was a huge fan of the first game and I'm truly looking forward to the sequel more than any other single player campaign coming this holiday. With the addition of online coop and a bigger more interactive world, Peter Molyneux's "Project Ego " is much closer to a reality this time around. With both titles requiring so much time and devotion to play, I think Fallout is going to to be taking a back seat to Fable for the time being.

Now here's some I want , but just don't need. Its the Gears or War 2 120 GB Zune. This thing looks sweet. I have no real use for one but that has never stopped me from buying things in the past (think PSP). The $280 price tag is a bit steep, but when there's a will there's a way. It comes loaded with over 1.4 GB's worth Gear's media. Anyone want to buy a 30 GB Creative Zen ? No really I'm serious......... Anyone ?
