Wow I'm totally blown away by Borderlands. Here's a game I've been watching for a while now and wasn't sure what to expect. Yeah I knew that Id bee getting a cell shaded wasteland featuring coop play , but the game had some stiff competition it that category with Halo ODST being released a few weeks prior to it.

As far as I'm concerned this game blows Halo ODST away in the coop department. Not that ODST was a bad game it just wasn't meant to be a coop game in my opinion, Borderlands was built from the ground up for coop and it shows. It also lends its self at being a great single player game to.

The game is all about picking up loot. From weapons (tons of them) and shields, to boat loads of cash and rare items. This game does for me what I wish Too Human could have done and that's get me addicted to it. Borderlands also succeeds at being a great FPS and RPG all at the same time, a formula that doesn't always turn out to well. I guess there's something about the wasteland setting that makes these two genres work great together…think Fallout 3.

So why should you buy a copy of Borderlands

I started  off my franchised mode with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Madden 10 with a controversial loss to the Tennessee Titans after the officials called  for a review from the guys upstairs in the booth. After reviewing  my amazingly acrobatic touchdown catch by Heinz Ward the “guys upstairs” in the booth felt the need to over turn my touchdown which would have tide the game at least sending it to overtime.

That's the NFL for you my friends and just like real life even in the Madden 10 sometimes you need to cures out some bad calls made by the officials. From there the rest of the season has been flawless After going down to the Titans 17-10, I was able to rally the troops back for 3 straight victories in a row. With a record or 3-1 this is what it looks like so far.

After one bad call and 3 straight wins the road to the Superbowl seems pretty bright for the my Steelers. Madden my be a game that gets a lot of criticism for being the “same” every year, but for me I've only owned the game twice in the past 6 years or so and find it to be a real treat to play.

I picked up two great games today for the price of a trade-in and 20 buck-a-roos ! Gamestop is dropping prices on older game and some that just straight up flopped. From the Nintendo DS right up to the Xbox 360 games are $20 and under brand new ! So I picked up Bionic Command for the 360 and House of the Dead 2 & 3  for the Wii. I've always had an interest in Bionic Commando, I always loved the way Capcom did Boss Battles. Of course after the not so wonderful reviews I left B.C. to the store shelves as did many others. Well it worked out great for me now that the price was dropped to $20.

I traded in Ghostbusters and got $25 for the trade and an extra $2.50 with my Edge Card ! So I also picked House of the Dead 2 & 3 for the Wii. Its hard to go wrong when you buy a game with Zombies in it. So a little light gun action blast from the past was also a great deal at $20. So check this list and see if there are games you may wanna pick up on the cheap !

So what did you play this Holiday weekend ? I hope not too much with all the great weather we had or at least I did. Anyway I seemed to rediscover the single player campaign in GRAW 2 this weekend. I don't know if it was from the Patriotic Holiday or all Major Nelsons videos or what , but I felt the need to pop in some GRAW 2.

It was like playing a new game all over again its been so long. Even though there was plenty I remembered while playing the game again there was plenty that just slipped my mind. For those that haven't even played a GRAW game well then as I always say….SHAME on you ! Go out and buy this game.

So I'm going to keep plugging away at the campaign till I finish it again. After that its time to scrape some friends up for some Multiplayer !

This afternoon I had a chance to stop by GameStop and pre-order the next few game that I will be purchasing.

3. Madden 10: 8/14
4. Halo 3 ODST CE: 9/22

After that it will be time to get ready for Forza 3. See ya then. 

Don't forget Tuesday Xbox Live will be down for maintenance so here are a few ways to keep you busy.

1. Read a book, may it would be a great time to start the Walking Dead if you haven't already.

2. Watch those show piled up on your DVR. How many Family Guys can you record before you start watching them again ?

3. You could spend some time with a loved one or the family.

4. You could use your (If you have one) Playstation 3, Wii or DSi for some online gaming….Nah you'd still be alone.

5. You could get some sleep and go to bed early.

6. You could chat on your favorite ‘IM’ or Skype with you friends.

All that or you can just do what it is you love to do. Pop in one of your favorite Xbox titles and enjoy a nice quiet night of some one on one time with you and your 360 !

Well its been slow here at BTYBTX. I put most of my blogging energy into Text Adventure and I also like to document my health goals at my newer blog Weight Watcher Gathering.

Text Adventure you know is dedicated to gaming in the past present and future. I'm accompanied by friends SUPERGHOST and his brother Schuey F1. So stop by for great gaming stories.

I still intend to blog here, but I think only when I have something to rant about or something personal to say about gaming  that wouldn't be appropriate for Text Adventure.

Now bring on Weight Watcher Gathering. I have lost 70 lbs since November and have take to newer approach towards life as far as putting my health higher on my priority list.

At age 38 I was 290 lbs and am now 217lbs. I'm no health expert, but guess what ? I'm trying to be. Every week I learn new things about eating better. I'm looking to prove to people out there that getting back in shape doesn't mean starving to death and breaking your back in the gym 7 days a week. So far I'm living proof of that.

So yeah health and video game what a combo right ? So These two blogs are were most of my energy go to, while this one waits in the wind for a good rant. Like I said I'm not trying to preach in my health blog. I just like reminding myself what I've accomplished at its there for anyone who just happens to come across it as well….. Enjoy !

Ok I didn’t buy these today nor did I buy all 3 of these. I did pick up the Chris and Sheva Resident Evil 5 action figures though. They really awesome and have great detail. Keep an eye out for them !

So the other day I was home surfin the net and got caught up in yet another impulse online purchase. For  the past year SUPERGHOST has been thinking about picking up Final Fantasy XI and always asked me to get in on it.

I was always like no way dude not me. Well guess what ? Yeah that’s what  I picked up, FF XI. Its was $ 15 on EBgames.com.

I don't normally like to spew out news that you could read anywhere else , but this news is certainly note worthy. The latest April issue of Gameinformer features a 10 page story on everyone's favorite under water city Rapture.

From the looks of the magazines cover the little sisters seem to be all grown up and the Big Daddy’s , well they seem to be gone. That or they went on a hell of a diet . Bioshock  2 looks to return with all of its creepy residents plus some new ones.

Bioshock  was hailed as Game of the Year in 2007 by most, so its sequel has a lot to live up to. With a new team in charge of development we can only hope that everything that made the first so great stays intact.

On a sweeter note Take-Two Interactive announced that the game would be released before Halloween of 09 ! So its time to head to your favorite news stand and pick up a copy of the new Gameinformer and find out just who will be waiting for you when you return to Rapture.
